On the Fifth Night of Hanukah -

Early in the day, the girls played dreidle and Ayelet discovered chocolate... then in the evening, Michaela and Ron got dressed up and went to see The Color Purple at The Paramount Theater with Rebecca and Paul. It was fun to see Michaela dressed up in her new dress from Nona and Nono!

Talya and I stayed home and worked on painting her jewels. We then had a sleepover in my big bed.

Hanukkah Continued....

On the third night of Hanukkah we ventured out to see/hear some friends singing at the local menorah lighting. It was cold, but so much fun to be out and about.

Ayelet was so happy to be out with her family.

And, we could tell how much she LOVES lighting the candles.

On the fourth night, we had dinner at our dear friends' house. It was delicious and the company was warm and welcoming. Ayelet chowed on cheese, tofu, latkes and apple sauce. When we got home, we opened some more gifts together.

Hanukkah, Nights 1 and 2

Hanukkah has been so much fun so far. Because the weather has been so dicey, we have spent a lot of time together at home.

On the first night of Hanukkah, we opened some gifts and watched the movie Home Alone togaether!

On the second night of Hanukkah, we snuggled and played Trivial Pursuit.

Ayelet's 9 Month Old Stats

Last week Ayelet saw the doctor for her nine month visit, here are the stats:

Weight: 16 lbs, 8 oz (15th percentile)
Height: 28 in (70th percentile) - now where does she get her length from?

She has some words, in addition to Da Da, Na Na, cat, she also very clearly says Talya which is very cute, especially first thing in the morning when she calls for her sister.

She LOVES the snow, every time I take her to the window, she smiles and points to the white stuff (which right now we have lots of!).

She is crawling, though one of her legs is in more of a scooting position, we will see if that rectifies itself soon. And, she has pulled herself up to standing a couple of times.

She is a very happy eater and eats everything she can. She prefers to feed herself which makes for some messy mealtimes (case in point). She is still nursing.

She plays games with the whole family, especially with Talya. She loves to play peek-a-boo and she loves to watch the dreidle spin, she tries to spin it, but to no avail. She loves Daddy's dog slippers, she will follow those around the whole house.

Most of all, she brings every member of our family a great deal of joy!

Check Us Out!

(the video is about 9 minutes, we show up about a third of the way in)

Ayelet Has Had So Many Firsts In The Last Couple Of Weeks

Not only is she combing her own hair (almost), she:
  • cut another tooth, that makes 3
  • is crawling all over the place
  • has words, a few very distinct words like kit cat (kitty cat), da da (Daddy) and na na (sounds like banana, refers to all food items)
  • signs "more" especially when referring to food
  • has pulled herself up to standing

She will be 9 months old this weekend!

Talya Separated The Eggs

So tonight, Talya and I were making a cake for Shabbos. The recipe called for separating the eggs. As soon as I mentioned that to Talya, she took the eggs and ...well, she separated them. Too cute!

Ayelet Is On The Move - It's Official!
