Today's Comedy Of Errors

It is true, no one ever told me that being the mother of three would be easy, however, in all honesty, I think I have had it easier than most and sometimes it is all too easy to take that for granted. Ayelet is a dream, she is easy going and laid back (clearly she gets that from Ron, NOT me), she sleeps well, eats well, and plays well. Michaela and Talya always help out AND they take care of each other. Ron is always doing his part and making sure that I am able to take care of me when I need to. I love our family.

Sometimes though, I get that reality check, that reminder that I need to be grateful for each one of my blessings, big and small. Today was one of those days, here is the run down.

10:00 am I let Michaela and Talya know that it is time to get ready to go, after all we are meeting Emily at Greenlake for a walk at 11:00 am.

10:15 am I wake up Ayelet early from her nap to nurse her and change her for our walk, in the mean time, I remind Michaela and Talya to finish getting ready.

10:35 am Ayelet is fed, changed and in her car seat ready to go. I have my shoes on and I am ready to go. Michaela is looking for hers, she has no idea where they are. Talya is looking for her helmet, after all, I don't let her on the scooter without it.

10:45 am Talya finds her helmet, Michaela realizes that she left her sneakers at her friend's house, she gets her basketball shoes on instead.

10:50 am We are in the car, on our way to pick up Sophie (we are now 10 minutes late).

10:55 am Still waiting for Sophie, she can't find her helmet, the oil light on the car turns on.

10:56 am Sophie gets in the car, I drive back home to get some oil, in the mean time I call Emily and tell her we are going to be about 10-15 minutes late.

11:08 am We arrive at Greenlake and unload. As I am putting Ayelet in the stroller, I realize that she needs to be changed, NOW.

11:15 am We finally get to where Emily is waiting for us (with a friend).

11:20 am Talya decides that she doesn't want to ride her scooter, it is too hard, she decides to walk. I explain to her that it will be a long way around, she is ok with that.

11:30 am Talya is no longer ok with that.

12:00 noon (approx) We see new life in the form of goslings and ducklings, I realize that I would have missed them if I wasn't walking slow around the lake with Talya holding my hand.

12:30 pm Talya, Michaela, Sophie and I go out for ice cream cones, BEFORE LUNCH. By the time we are done eating our cones, we are all smiling again.
