When we got home this evening, Ayelet was snuggling in my arms and she looked up at me smiling. Of course I smiled back at her. She cooed and smiled some more, then I tickled her a bit under her chin and she LAUGHED! It was kind of a gurgling sound from the back of her throat, it was so cute. Of course, I got so excited when I heard it that I scared her and she began to frown, but moments later she smiled, cooed and then she laughed again!
Tonight we entered the next phase of her sleep training... For those keeping score, Ayelet has been blessing me with longer and longer nights of sleep. For the last week, she has consistently slept from 9 0r 10 at night to 4 or 5 in the morning, sometimes as late as 5:30 am. It has been wonderful. Tonight, we put her down tired, but not asleep so that she can learn to go to sleep on her own. So far so good, she fussed a little and is now asleep - of course it is just the first day.
